- Earliest evidences are from Sri Lanka, Kerala-Tamilnadu border (600 BC)
- Initially, it was thought that it had originated at the time of Ashoka, may be for his edicts. However, recent discoveries near Kerala-Tamilnadu border puts it at 6 century BC. Refer.
- Also, there is discoveries from Sri Lanka at around 500BC, long before Ashoka.
- No northern emperor reached till these places till Asoka. So scripts traveled in trade routes; not by conquests.
- There are many sea trade routes from middle east to south India. For example, Muziris in central Kerala.
- Now add the fact that, Brahmi is derived from Aramaic.
- Maximum variations close to historical origin - more script variations in south india.
- It is a common thump rule used by the anthropologists to identify the place origin. That is, the maximum variation of a genetic or linguistic property will be close to its origin.
- The variation per distance for the Brahmic scripts is more in south India - consider Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Sinhalese scripts.
- Letter shapes are closer to Grandha(Malayalam, Tamil) than to Devanagari
- Matra (vowel sign) logic. Please see vowel signs on ka.
- for ഈ, ഊ signs there is something used twice. In Malayalam that is quite obviously represented by the loop or extra loop.
- Vowel and consonant shapes matches in following cases(Refer Brahmi proposal, pg 18)

കൗതുകകരം. അറമിയക്ക് ഉല്പ്പത്തി വാദത്തിനു പുറമേ സിന്ധൂതടത്തിലാണു ഉല്പ്പത്തിയെന്നും ഇന്ഡസ് സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റുമായി സാമ്യമുണ്ടെന്നും വാദമുണ്ടല്ലോ സിബൂ?
ReplyDeleteപ്രത്യേകിച്ചും മയിലാടും തുറ (തമിഴ് നാട്) ലിഖിതത്തില്‍ (ബി സി 2000) ഇന്ഡസ് സ്ക്രിപ്പ്റ്റ് ആണെന്നും ( ie. ക്നോറോസോവ് -ആസ്കോ പര്‍പോള വാദം) അല്ലെന്നും വാദം ഉണ്ടായതോടെ കണ്‍ഫ്യൂ ആയി. ഈ വാദം ശരിയണെങ്കില്‍ ദ്രാവിഡ തിരിച്ചോട്ട കഴകം ഇന്ഡസ് സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റുമായി തെക്കന്‍ ഇന്ത്യ ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് സിന്ധുതടത്തില്‍ നിന്നോടിയെന്നും അതു പിന്നെ കാലം കൊണ്ട് ബ്രഹ്മിയും മറ്റുമായി തീര്‍ന്നെന്നും വരാം.

ReplyDeleteവിജ്ഞാനപ്രദം... ദേവനും, മാവേലിയും പഠിക്കാനറിയുന്നവരാണ്‌. അതിനറിയാത്ത ചിത്രകാരന്‍ ഇതിലെ ബഹുമാനത്തോടെ കടന്നുപോകുന്നു.
ഇതൊന്നും പഠിച്ചെഴുതുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളല്ല. ഉണ്ടിരുന്ന നായര്‍ക്ക്‌ ... എന്നികേട്ടിട്ടില്ലേ. അതുപോലെ. ഒരു ബ്രെയിന്‍ ഡമ്പ്‌. കൂടുതല്‍ ഈ വിഷയത്തില്‍ വായിക്കാന്‍ സഹായകമാവും എന്നു മാത്രം.

കാഴ്ച്യ്ക്കാണെങ്കില്‍ ലേറ്റര്‍ ഇന്ഡസ് സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റും മറ്റുപലതും ഏതാണ്ടൊരുപോലെ. വേണമെങ്കില്‍ പഴയ ലാറ്റിനാണെന്ന് വരെ പറയാം. അതുകൊണ്ട്‌ കാഴ്ചകൊണ്ട്‌ അങ്ങനെ ഒന്നും ഉറപ്പിക്കാന്‍ വയ്യ.
തെക്കേ ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ ഇന്ഡസ് വാലി സിവിലൈസേഷനുമുമ്പ്‌ ആള്‍പ്പാര്‍പ്പില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നൊരു വ്യംഗ്യം എപ്പോഴും കേള്‍ക്കുന്നു. ധാരാളം ദ്രാവിഡന്മാര്‍ ആസമയത്ത്‌ ഇവിടെ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു. അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ സംസ്കാരമുണ്ടായിരുന്നോ എന്നത്‌ വേറേ ചോദ്യം.
ഹൈപ്പോതിസീസുകളെ മോസ്റ്റ് അഡെപ്റ്റ്‌ തീയറിയുമായി അലൈന്‍ ചെയ്യണം എന്നുണ്ട്‌ എന്ന് സിബു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ മൊത്തത്തില്‍ എത്ര തീയറി ആരുണ്ടാക്കി എന്നൊന്ന് എണ്ണിപ്പെറുക്കി- കിട്ടിയതില്‍ കൊള്ളാവുന്ന ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തില്‍ നിന്ന്
